Summary

More a 4。5 I guess?I didn’t think I’d like this book so much。 I thought the story was cliché。 I also found Olive’s lying a bit of annoying。 I mean for real, at their age, was it really necessary to lie about your love life just to make your best friend think you’re over your ex? I found everything, including her and Adam’s actions inappropriate for their age lol that’s just me。 Also, there were not enough descriptions of the characters so everything will be left to your imagination。 But again, t More a 4。5 I guess?I didn’t think I’d like this book so much。 I thought the story was cliché。 I also found Olive’s lying a bit of annoying。 I mean for real, at their age, was it really necessary to lie about your love life just to make your best friend think you’re over your ex? I found everything, including her and Adam’s actions inappropriate for their age lol that’s just me。 Also, there were not enough descriptions of the characters so everything will be left to your imagination。 But again, to my surprise, with every turn of each page, I grew to love the characters of Adam and Olive。 They were so cute together。 I just stopped thinking of their age while I was reading。 This book was light and fast-paced you wouldn’t realize right away the real-life social problems and issues involved。 It somehow gave a glimpse of what a life in academe would be like, including the ups and downs。 Regarding the sexual assaults, at first I found it weird how easy it was for Olive to dismiss everything that happened to her。 Then again I realized we all have different ways of dealing with things and hers could be one of the many。 I have nothing more to say about this because the story is really predictable。 Despite this, I still enjoyed it and I really couldn’t put it down once I started reading it。 I’d still recommend this book if you are looking for a chill and light read。 👌🏼 。。。more

I loved the first half of the book but the way the just fell in love felt boring to me and I had to kinda force myself to keep reading。 I do love that she’s a women in stem。

I know this is an extremely popular book but it kinda missed the mark for me。 I will admit that I read this book off on how everyone was hyping up the sex scene(s) and how protective Adam was。 Now I think Adam was extremely protective ad Adam when it came up later in the book。 I think the sex scene wasn't anything extremely hot but more like how real-life sex is。 I liked both characters and grumpy x sunshine is one of my favorite tropes and Adam Carlson definitely doesn't like anyone other than I know this is an extremely popular book but it kinda missed the mark for me。 I will admit that I read this book off on how everyone was hyping up the sex scene(s) and how protective Adam was。 Now I think Adam was extremely protective ad Adam when it came up later in the book。 I think the sex scene wasn't anything extremely hot but more like how real-life sex is。 I liked both characters and grumpy x sunshine is one of my favorite tropes and Adam Carlson definitely doesn't like anyone other than Olive。 Overall, I wouldn't say it was a waste of my time but I wouldn't say I would read it again。 I never had a moment of suspense where I was like "Oh my god, when will they tell each other"。 I think another turn-off for me was that it wasn't it dual pov and it was kinda told in a narrative way, like "Olive said," but we knew what Olive was thinking。 I think that's called third-person limited。 I wouldn't recommend it for everyone but if you like these types of books then I think it's perfect for you and definitely worth reading。 。。。more

I liked this book。 It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, it was quite predictable but I enjoyed reading it and it’s a nice difference in setting compared to other romance novels, in its academic setting。

This one was cute, but also had many parts that were super cringe。 And I was easily irritated by the fact that Olive just couldn’t speak up about so many things

Omg! I loved this book。 I have never finished a book this quickly (which i am very proud of ngl!)。 When I picked it up 2 days ago I wasn’t sure whether I’d like it or not。 Luckily, I was so wrong。 It was so fun to read。 My first language isn’t English but I had no problem reading this book at all。 The first chapter was so endearing, I just kept reading and reading。 Their interaction were so cute, my heart melted every time。 I liked Olive and her ambitions are realistic and understandable when yo Omg! From the bond between Olive and her best friends to her relationship w/ the brooding scientist, Adam (who I immediately picture as sexy ass Adam Driver-( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )- I know I can’t be the only one!), this book is pretty much a compilation of awkwardly nerdy + sweet moments。 —“No, that’s not the way it works。 Virginity is not a continuous variable, it’s categorical。 Binary。 Nominal。 Dichotomous。 Ordinal, potentially。 I’m talking about chi-square, maybe Spearman’s correlation, logistic regression, From the bond between Olive and her best friends to her relationship w/ the brooding scientist, Adam (who I immediately picture as sexy ass Adam Driver-( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )- I know I can’t be the only one!), this book is pretty much a compilation of awkwardly nerdy + sweet moments。 —“No, that’s not the way it works。 Virginity is not a continuous variable, it’s categorical。 Binary。 Nominal。 Dichotomous。 Ordinal, potentially。 I’m talking about chi-square, maybe Spearman’s correlation, logistic regression, the logit model and that stupid sigmoid function, and 。 。 。”It had been weeks and it still took her breath away, the uneven tilt of his smile。 How unanticipated it always was, the dimples it formed。 Olive was left without air as his large palm cupped the side of her face and brought it down for a slow, warm, laughing kiss。 “You are such a smart-ass,” he said against her mouth。—Olive had some of the funniest things to say to Adam since being an academic makes her so methodical in her reasoning including w/ their (fake)dating and it constantly made me smile… I already want to reread this now knowing the full story because it’s stinkin cuteeee。“Ik hou van jou, Adam。” ☺️ 。。。more

science and romance? my favorite combo!I was hooked from the start of the first hypothesis。 I love romances but I REALLY LOVE science。 This story is the perfect combo of both! I could not it down until I was done…。and then I didn’t want it to end! I would love more of these two characters and their friends!
